CRPF Full Form

CRPF Full Form is the official name of the Central Reserved Police Force .The Central Reserve Police Force ( CRPF) has earned the distinction of having the most extensive of all India's Central Armed Police Forces. It is under the direction of Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) of the Government of India.

The CRPF's primary responsibility is for assisting the State/Union Territories during police activities to keep law , order and peace and to counter insurgency. The CRPF has been in charge of the command in anti-Naxal operations for the last five years, and has achieved milestones worth conidering.

CRPF Full Form - A Brief History

CRPF was Originally constituted by it was originally known as the Crown Representative Police in 1939 It is among the oldest Central paramilitary forces (now called Central Armed Police Force). CRPF was formed as a response to the protests and unrest that was raging in the sovereign States of India following the Madras Resolution of the All-India Congress Committee in 1936 and the growing desire by the Chief Representative for assistance to the vast majority of the indigenous States to ensure law and order as a part of the imperial strategy.

After independence, the police force was renamed as Central Reserve Police Force by an Act of Parliament on December 28 1949. This Act was the first step in establishing CRPF as an armed force within the Union. Sardar Vallabh bhai Ptel, the then Home Minister saw a broad role to it that was in tune with the ever-changing needs of a newly independent nation.

The CRPF Rules as envisaged in CRPF Act were framed in 1955 and then published within the Gazette of India dated March 25 in 1955. Shri V.G.Kanetkar was appointed the first Director General, CRPF.since that time, it has been working relentlessly to make India more peaceful and a peaceful abode.
